This is the e-mail I recieved from David the evening of the first day with Mei. It sounds like things are going very well! Lorie
At the risk of jinxing a good thing, she is doing great. We went to dinner and gave her a bath before. She laughed at dinner and ate and ate and ate. Rice, carrots, honey dew melon, watermelon, yogurt, brocoli, pudding and some rice dish the waitress insisted on bringing to the table. She yummed it up. Insisted on using her own spoon and fork. Nana and I tried to switch so I could eat and she started to cry. But she let Nana put her jams on and has fallen asleep on the bed with her. Nana also gave her a bath which she seemed to enjoy. She loves her fish you got her. She has a cough but Zhou says not to worry. She also has a rash around her head and some places on her legs. We are applying ointment to her legs and will keep her bathed to combat the rash.
Tomorrow we go back to the local agency to finalize everything at 10am. The whole process should take 1.5 to 2 hrs. Then we are back to the hotel for a nap and off to some more Chinese culture with Zhou in the afternoon (or we may go shopping for Mei).
Say a prayer for tonight. I hope she sleeps well and doesn't wake up scared because she doesn't remember where she is. More pics attached. It may be tomorrow before I get the video.
All our love, David & Mei in Zhengzhou
