9-30-07 - Application sent to European Adoption Consultants (EAC) 10-3-07 - Application accepted 10-5-07 - Received adoption packet in the mail from EAC 10-8-07 - Spoke with Kim from EAC (she is our consultant) 10-9-07 - Called Cradle of Love for our Home Study 10-11-07 - mailed form to get birth certificate (Lorie) 10-12-07 - David got marriage certificate & his birth certificate 10-18-07 - First session for the Home Study (joint) 10-18-07 - Got fingerprinted at sheriffs office 10-18-07 - Got criminal checks at police department 10-22-07 - Applied for passports 10-22-07 - Mailed fingerprint cards 10-23-07 - Lorie session for Home Study 10-24-07 - Mailed registration paperwork to EAC 10-25-07 - Kim called to tell us to submit I-600A 10-26-07 - Lorie received birth certificates in mail 10-29-07 - David session for Home Study 10-29-07 - Faxed Kim copy of I-600A - Kim called & said to mail it 10-31-07 - Mailed I-600A w/copies of birth & marriage certificates 11-02-07 - Lorie Dr. appt for medical forms (Home Study & Dossier) 11-07-07 - Final Home Study at house 11-29-07 - Received copies of our completed Home Study in mail 12-3-07 - Mailed Home Study to USCIS & extra copy to EAC 12-12-07 - Karla from EAC called and wants us to do research on bilateral cleft lip & palate. She also asked if a child who was close to 2 & would be 2 1/2 by the time we got her home was o.k. with us. Possible subtle hint??!! 12-20-07 - Spoke with Kim from EAC. She said they have a referral for us! They are waiting for some more medical info. before giving us the referral. What a Christmas present! 12-21-07 - Fingerprint appt. in Atlanta w/USCIS 1-2-08 - Kim called and said we are going to start the year off right........................WE HAVE A REFERRAL FOR A LITTLE GIRL NAMED MEI!!!!!! She is 20 months old and beautiful! Kim e-mailed the referral & pictures immediately. We will receive it by Fed-Ex tomorrow. Happy New Year! 1-3-08 - Received the referral in the mail with Letter Of Intent 1-4-08 - Mailed Letter Of Intent to adopt Mei. This will be sent to China. 1-10-08 - Both of us went to the Marietta Police Dept. to get a new criminal check since our others have expired. 1-18-08 - Received our I-797 approval in the mail. This is our petition to file for the adoption of an orphan from the Department of Homeland Security. We can now get all of our Dossier paperwork certified and send it to China. 1-22-08 - David had all of our Dossier paperwork county and state certified. 1-23-08 - Mailed Dossier to EAC who will have it translated & certified by the Chinese Consulate. 3-14-08 - Received our PA (Pre-Approval)! This means as long as everything looks good with our Dossier we can adopt Mei. 3-20-08 - Dossier mailed to China. Now we wait for our Letter of Acceptance. This can take 4-6 months. 3-28-08 - Our official LID (Log In Date). This means that the CCAA has recieved our dossier. The countdown for our LOA starts from our LID. 6-10-08 - RECEIVED OUR LOA!!! 7-2-08 - Received our Travel Approval! Hoping to travel Aug 18-29 8-17-08 - David and his mom leave for China 8-21-08 - GOTCHA DAY!!! 8-29-08 - David, Nana and Mei come home from China!
